Install cell sdk 3.1 on ps3 ydl 6.1 fails evry time help pls

Hi,
I try to install IBM cell sdk 3.1 on my ps3 on yellow dog 6.1. I wish to make a full install (with eclipse plugin, cell simulator, example, etc) Every time i fail..
i use

cell-install-3.1.0-0.0.noarch.rpm
CellSDK-Devel-RHEL_3.1.0.0.0.iso
CellSDK-Extras-RHEL_3.1.0.0.0.iso

i start the install with "/opt/cell/cellsdk --all --iso /tmp/cellsdkiso/ install -vv" . from the beginning i receive some errors about fail to install licence, i manage to extract the .rpm licence file from iso image and install them manually (cell-devel-license-3.1.0-0.0.noarch.rpm and cell-extras-RHEL-license-3.1.0-0.0.noarch.rpm) and after that i restart inst
alation process. can anybody to help posting the right steps to make this work ?

Since Cell SDK 3.1 is already supposed to be included in YDL 6.1, I believe, I'm wondering what you're missing ... ?

i relay don`t find in eclipse the plugin for cell. this it`s my problem. also i try integration with systemsim emulator and all the stuffs that come with the dev kit.. maybe it`s a simple way to do all this, but i am a beginner, and little help will be grateful.

I use first time a vmware image form this guys (http://code.google.com/p/cell-knn/wiki/SDK) .
the image include all this things:
Fedora 9 VMware image
containing:
Cell SDK 3.1 Full Systemsimulator (Fedora 9) Cell IDE for Eclipse (fixed "21% Kernel Loading" problem) GNU-toolchain

and i try to reproduce something similar on my ps3.
i wish to use eclipse because it`s more easy to manage a project..compile, use the simulator for debugging.(think like a man who com from visual studio )

This worked for me using these two rpm's downloaded from the IBM site:

cell-install-3.1.0-0.0.noarch.rpm
CellSDK-Devel-RHEL_3.1.0.0.0.iso

First uninstall any previous versions of the cell sdk:

# rpm -ivh /path-to-file/cell-install-3.1.0-0.0.noarch.rpm
# /opt/cell/cellsdk uninstall

Then install the various support stuff:

# yum install *ppu* *spu* numactl numactl-devel

Note that I had a lot of problems to install spu-gcc-c++ and finally manually downloaded and installed spu-gcc-c++-4.1.1-166.ppc.rpm from http://mirror.anl.gov/yellowdog/releases/yellowdog-6.1/os/YellowDog

Once that is done, you need to mount the iso and install the sdk:

# mkdir /tmp/sdk
# mount -o loop /path-to-file/CellSDK-Devel-RHEL_3.1.0.0.0.iso /tmp/sdk
# cd /tmp/sdk/rpms
# yum localinstall cell-*
# yum localinstall cellide-3.1.0-3.ppc.rpm
# umount /tmp/sdk

..and that should be it

You probably want to modify it include the --nogpgcheck option.

Here is my modificationn to juanito's instructions which allowed me to install all 3 packages and build all samples in the base SDK:

Grab the following from IBM DeveloperWorks, as directed:
cell-install-3.1.0-0.0.noarch.rpm
CellSDK-Devel-RHEL_3.1.0.0.0.iso
CellSDK-Extras-RHEL_3.1.0.0.0.iso

I grabbed them on a Windows box, scp-ed them to my PS3, then moved them to /tmp/sdkfiles/

Then:

rpm -ivh /tmp/sdkfiles/cell-install-3.1.0-0.0.noarch.rpm
/opt/cell/cellsdk uninstall


That did some clean-ups/housekeeping.

Redid the install binaries as instructed:

yum install *ppu* *spu* numactl numactl-devel


Next stage would be to create the mount points for the 2 install ISOs, and then mount them:

mkdir /mnt/sdk
mkdir /mnt/sdkextras
mount -o loop /tmp/sdkfiles/CellSDK-Devel-RHEL_3.1.0.0.0.iso /mnt/sdk
mount -o loop /tmp/sdkfiles/CellSDK-Extras-RHEL_3.1.0.0.0.iso /mnt/sdkextras


Then to install the base SDK stuff:

cd /mnt/sdk/ppc64/
yum --nogpgcheck localinstall *

Then the contents of the extra CD

cd /mnt/sdkextras/ppc64/
yum --nogpgcheck localinstall *


Don't forget to unroll the example tars in /opt/cell/sdk/src/ - lots of meaty code there.
